W^

What is w^ short for?

What's up

W^ is the sickest way to abbreviate "what's up?" This two-character term shortens "what's" to just "w" and uses a caret symbol (which points up) in place of the word "up."

In some cases, W^ might instead mean "what up," a phrase that is used slightly differently than "what's up." In addition to using "what up" to ask someone how or what they're doing, people use "what up" to brag about an accomplishment. For example, a friend who received a surprise raise may text you saying, "hey hey, guess who got a raise, w^."

Example

W^ man?
Not much, you?

A man who wants to know w^
